Travis: The Collector
Hardback book about the life of an elderly man I happened to meet in Brighton. I’ve worked with him before here. Some images have text alongside (on the opposite pages) but some are standalone. All text will be Travis’ words that I either wrote down or recorded.
Top image text: “I love coming to the museum because you’d never think that some of these things would be worth so much. You could see some of these things at a bootfair and think ‘that looks like tat’ but it’s actually worth thousands. See life is about finding the treasure.”
Bottom image text: “This is a photo of me and Vic Reeves at a party in Catford. He wasn’t Vic Reeves then but he was still a laugh. He used to live in the flat underneath me. I still see him sometimes in the antiques shops, he collects snow globes. Lovely chap.”
